Mandate
- To develop, recommend, execute and oversee the implementation of a unified, inclusive national narrative grounded in Islamic principles of universal peace, tolerance and social harmony, as enshrined in the Constitution of Pakistan (Articles 20, 22, 31).
- To serve as the national platform for religious leaders from all Pakistani sects and religious minorities, fostering interfaith harmony and unity.
- To oppose and counter all forms of sectarian, extremist and hate-based rhetoric through inclusive religious scholarship and credible voices.
- To act as a consultative body on all matters related to religious extremism, sectarianism and hate speech.
- To promote education and dialogue that dismantle prejudices and misconceptions among religious communities.
- To engage and mobilize communities in rejecting violence and hate, empowering moderate religious perspectives.
- To provide policy guidance, narrative direction and coordination to PPACs / RPACs for localized implementation of the national peace narrative.
- To include Coordinators of PPACs / RPACs as part of NPAC so as to ensure institutional linkage, representation of provincial / regional perspectives and continuity in implementation of the Paigham-e-Aman framework across all tiers.
- To assign the Coordinators of PPACs / RPACs the responsibility to organize, facilitate and oversee the functioning of their respective committees, while maintaining regular coordination with NPAC on implementation progress, emerging issues and local recommendations.
- To ensure that PPACs / RPACs work in close coordination with the respective Provincial / Regional Ministries / Departments of Information for narrative dissemination, media engagement, outreach support and alignment of communication efforts with the broader Paigham-e-Aman framework.
