Introduction
Pakistan’s diverse religious landscape has faced challenges from rising extremism, sectarian violence and hate speech, threatening national unity and peace. The National Paigham-e-Aman Committee (NPAC) was formulated, notified in September 2025, to address these challenges by bringing together religious leaders from all sects and minorities.
NPAC will provide a platform for interfaith dialogue, consensus-building and coordinated efforts to prevent radicalized and sectarian conflicts. NPAC shall play a crucial role in strengthening social cohesion and resilience against divisive rhetoric, contributing to Pakistan’s stability and pluralism through collaborative religious leadership.
To ensure that the national vision is translated into local realities, Provincial / Regional Paigham-e-Aman Committees (PPACs / RPACs) shall serve as the corresponding outreach and coordination mechanisms in Punjab, Sindh, KP, Balochistan, AJK, GB and Islamabad Capital Territory, as applicable.
PPACs of Punjab, Sindh, KPK and Balochistan and RPAC of AJK and GB have been notified. These committees will contextualize the national narrative in light of local religious, social and security dynamics, while feeding ground assessments, sensitivities and recommendations back to NPAC for a coherent whole-of-country approach.
